Ugly Christmas Sweater Run
Love to run and wear festive sweaters? Then Fisherman’s Village’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Run is the holiday event for you. On December 17, head over to the Foot Landing in Punta Gorda, FL, for a run through luminary pathways on the way to the finish line at Fisherman’s Village.
You can enjoy some after-event attractions and entertainment. Best of all, you’re encouraged to wear your ugliest holiday sweater or dress up as the Grinch. Prizes will be awarded to those with the most hideous sweaters.
Finally, you can give your legs a break and take the Christmas trolley through this charming town to get back to the Foot Landing. Those interested in participating must check in at 5:30 pm at Foot Landing. Registration is free, and the race will start at 6:30 pm for runners and 6:15 pm for walkers.
Christmas Light Canal Cruises
The holiday season near Fort Myers, Sarasota, and North Port brings some of the most breathtakingly beautiful scenes to the area. That view is only enhanced with a Christmas Light Canal Cruise.
For more than 30 years, King Fisher Fleet has provided residents with a unique look into the year’s most festive decorations. Their Christmas Light Canal Cruises are the premier family-friendly holiday event in the area.
Through December 31, boats tour residential canals for a glimpse at the festively decorated homes, boats, docks, and seawalls. Cruises commence at 6, 7:30, and 9 pm daily at Fisherman’s Village. Tickets cost $17 for adults and $8.50 for kids between ages 3 to 11. Children under 3 are free. Tickets for groups of 15 or more are offered for $15.30 per person.
