4th of July Fireworks North Port, FL

Break out the red, white, and blue and get ready for a spectacular fireworks display that will light up the night sky.

On Saturday, July 4, the City of North Port will host the 12th Annual Freedom Festival, which promises fun and entertainment for the whole family.

Each year, more than 5,000 spectators gather for this Independence Day tradition that features delicious food, lively entertainment, and informative vendors. Many of the past years’ events will again take place, including a pie-eating contest. Physical activities for the entire family, such as an obstacle course, gladiator joust, and power jumper (trampoline with bungee jumpers) will be there. Young and not-so-young alike will enjoy the family activity area, face painting, and temporary tattoo artist. Rounding out the attractions are giant water slides, including one with a slip and slide on the end.

The fireworks spectacular will be choreographed to music, and performing live on the main stage will be the rousing, rollicking, energetic, and dynamic Have Gun Will Travel playing their eclectic mix of Americana, folk, indie, and rock. There will be many booths at this family-friendly event offering soft drinks and a great variety of foods.

Free parking is available at four lots that are adjacent to the festival site:

  • North Port High School Stadium (Red Lot A): Patrons parking in this lot will be directed to exit east on to Price Boulevard to Sumter Boulevard.
  • North Port High School Admin parking (Blue Lot B): Patrons parking in this lot will be directed to exit west on to Price Boulevard to Biscayne Drive.
  • Heron Creek Middle School parking (Green Lot C): Patrons parking in this lot will exit east or west on to Price Boulevard, depending on the lane chosen. Those exiting east will be directed to Sumter Boulevard, while those exiting west will be directed to Glen Allen Boulevard.
  • Morgan Family Community Center parking (Orange Lot D): Patrons parking in this lot will be directed to exit to the east on to Sumter Boulevard.

Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9 pm, weather permitting, and may be adjusted based on conditions on July. There’s grass seating, so bring a lawn chair or blanket. No coolers, animals, or personal fireworks are permitted.

You can kick off the Fourth of July holiday weekend with a bang by taking part in the ninth annual Firecracker 5K Run. This 3.1-mile race follows a fast, flat course that’s well marked with two water stations along the route. It starts at 7:30 am at the Morgan Family Community Center, 6207 West Price Boulevard.
