2021 Volkswagen ID.4: Power and Performance

2021 Volkswagen ID.4 Engine SpecsThe electric motor that the VW ID.4 base trim comes with is designed to be compact and silent. It’s mounted above the rear axle and transfers its torque to a single-speed 2-stage gearbox. This is to the advantageous position of increased agility in handling along with enhanced traction. While running at speeds of 20 MPH or lower, it generates an engine-like sound to alert nearby pedestrians and cyclists.

The motor itself is an AC permanent-magnet synchronous motor, which, to your benefit, puts out 201 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque that’s dispersed as mentioned above. An SUV with these strong stats is great for either work or play, for the commuter who needs a solid work vehicle or drivers who need extra family room.

2021 Volkswagen ID.4: Fuel Economy

Instead of the usual gasoline, now you’ll be injecting lightning. For instance, the VW ID.4 is equipped with an 82kWh (gross) battery back. With rear-wheel drive models, the EPA-estimated range on a single charge is 260 miles for the VW ID.4 Pro, or standard trim.

It further breaks down into individual calculations. The EPA-estimated fuel economy of the VW ID.4 Pro is 107 city/91 highway MPGe.1 Like any other vehicle, different environments will increase or decrease the consumption of fuel.

You’ll get fueled from using the Combined Charging System socket, allowing for both home and public charging. At-home charging takes approximately seven and a half hours, while a DC fast-charging station, with 125 kW charging power, can take the ID.4 from five percent to eighty percent in 38 minutes.

2021 Volkswagen ID.4: Infotainment

2021 Volkswagen ID.4 TechnologyThe VW ID.4 will have you feeling like it’s the future when you enter the cabin to discover that there are hardly any buttons! The heavy lifting will be done through tactile expressions and voice recognition commands. With this in mind, the ID.Cockpit display is directly in front of the driver, operated with sensitive touch controls on the luxurious leather-wrapped multifunction heated steering wheel, which gives haptic feedback.

There’s also a 10-inch Discover Pro touch infotainment display that’s angled slightly toward the driver and can be configured to manage the standard navigation system, all telematics, entertainment, driver-assistance systems, and other vehicle settings.
